I had gallbladder pain & went to ER in July after (eating
Chinese food and going to sleep). They did ultrasound and said everything was
okay because the stones were rolling around, the pain I had was due to one of
the stones (they detected 2 small ones) blocked the duct and caused the
spasms. They sent me home with Bentl (an antispasmodic) and Darvocette and
told me there was no mucous and it shouldn’t be that big of a deal.

I’ve only had 2 attacks since and since I now know it’s not a heart attack as
I originally thought it was, I take Zantac, Soy Lecithin, Milk Thistle and
any pain pill I can get a hold of, sometimes Advil & Tylenol combo works or a
Toradol (which I take for Dysmennorhea)

I have been researching and reading this list the past month and was curious,
if a small stone could block the duct and cause pain, then how exactly does
everyone here flush them out without pain and danger? I just got the GCG
yesterday, but I am unsure as to the fastest, most painles route to flushing.
Also, has anyone ever had a stone get stuck during a flush? And lastly what
is Dr. Hulda’s method as opposed to the ones on Sensiblehealth.com?

From my experience with the flushes ..and I’ve done three now .. it’s the not
eating on the day of the cleansing that’s important ..I’ve read that one can
make
oneself ill by eating ..they do say you can eat light on the morning before you
start … fruit that sort of thing myself I just don’t eat on that day … after
you take the epson salts your not hungry anyway

Feeling of popping in gallbladder area?

Hi, all –
Has anyone else experienced this? I did my first cleanse this past
Tuesday night, and got about 100 stones out — was pleasantly
surprised! Now, for the past couple of days, off and on I get a
painless popping sensation in my gallbladder area — a few times
it’s been so surprising that I actually jumped! No pain at all,
though — just a weird feeling. It happened a couple of times while
I was watching TV last night, and I got up to put a heating pad on
the area. I know Dr Clark said that on the night of the cleanse, if
you concentrate, you can feel the stones rolling out like little
marbles. That’s almost what this feels like. Do you think the
stones are still coming out — is that what I’m feeling??

Can someone direct me to the sites on here where cleanses are listed…l had
them in favorites places but l cant find them now..after my harddrive
crashed. thanks, teri.

What is the name of the gallbladder salts used for the first 6 months after
wls to keep you from forming gallstones?
I know its by prescription from a doctor…

I have real problems with lean pork — pork tenderloin is almost
impossible for me to eat unless I dip each bite-sized piece into
barbecue sauce.

That’s my experience. I find that thighs are better than breasts and
that stewing is the best cooking method. I buy boneless, skinless
thighs (Costco) and stew them in salsa or make murgh masala or
something along those lines so that the chicken is moist and there’s
a low-fat sauce for it.

I also gained some weight from so many last suppers before my surgery.
However, it was only about 5 – 10 pounds. Since I never stayed at the
same weight for more than a day or two I was always fluctuating that
much anyway. No one said a word. Anyway, I am now exactly 4 months
post-op and have lost 60 pounds! (proximal rny on 5/4 – okay, I’m two
days early) I also asked on the list about all my eating just before
the surgery and got a lot of responses back about how everyone seems to
do it. Anxiety with a big A will do it every time.

I hate to introduce my self when I’m crying, but I just got word that my
surgery has been approved. And now, I’m laughing through the tears. My name
is Carolyn. I will be having an open RNY with Dr. Magnuson at Johns Hopkins
Bayview Campus. Has anyone on the list had surgery there? I don’t know a
date yet, but it will probably be within 2 – 3 weeks.

Are there any angels in the Baltimore area? I’d sure love to have one. My
family is wonderfully supportive, but I’d like to have someone who really
knows what this life is like.

I’ve been lurking for about 6 weeks and you have all be a tremendous help in

I just had to share with you that yesterday I was approved to travel to
Chicago on October 14-18. There is a remainder book show at the Chicago
Hilton and I also get to drive to Gurnee to see our store in the Gurnee
Mills Outlet. I’m so excited! I haven’t gone on a business trip since
June of last year.

I’m also writing this in hopes that maybe I could meet some of you from
Chicago while I’m there. My days will be pretty full, but, some nights
won’t be completely booked, i.e. vendor dinners. So, if anyone is game,
let me know. I’ve only been to Chicago about two times and that was
years ago on other business trips (we used to have a distribution center
in Roselle, IL).

Hello all: I need to thank everyone on this list for showing such
encouragement to me on Monday. I was really, really down about what my
boss said. I thought I might update you on that. When I went to work
on Tuesday, I told him that he hadn’t been fair to me about my self
discipline. He said that he agreed with me. What he did say is that
regardless of the decision I make, he’ll walk beside me…even hold my
hand. However, in the meantime (because I’m so gung-ho) he wants to
play devils advocate.

This has been an amazing thing, that in a matter of two weeks, my life
and perspective could change so much with just the knowledge that I can
take control of my life.

I sat down with my DH over the weekend and talked to him about the
surgery and why I want it. He has been incredibly supportive about
everything. His comment was: If you are going to do this, do it for
yourself, not for me, not for anyone else…Just you. I love and accept
you just the way you are, but if you need to do this to feel better
about yourself or to improve your health, I’ll support you 100%. what
a guy, huh?

I guess another reason I need to do this is for my children. I have
twin girls that are almost 12, and my son is almost 8. There were
several times in the last couple of years that my kids came home upset
because someone had been making fun of them…because they have a FAT
mom. Whew…that one is tough. My kids love me, and, in fact, are
always trying to convince me that I’m not fat…but this really, really
hurts them. I’m 32 years old, and I’m NOT going to spend the rest of my
life looking like this.

Anyway, I’ve done my rambling for the day. Again, thank you for your
incredible support. I filled out my paperwork for the doctor today and
will call for a consultation appointment this afternoon. I’m just
praying that I don’t have to wait to long to see him..*smile*

Hello everyone! I had my surgery 8 days ago today! I go to the dr. today for
my check up. I am anxious to see how things are, medically speaking of
course. Well, the only thing i can say at this point, is there is a huge
difference without my apron!!!! I can see the top of my thighs (and other
things too). I’ve never done that before, lol!!! The pain is minimal,
actually, just like my c-section. The only problem i am having, is my drains
keep getting clogged up, so, i am anxious to see how to cure that problem
today!!!! I’ll have my before and after pics soon, i think, hhmmm, not
sure, i’ll see. My new belly button looks pretty good, surprising enough. I
know that a risk of the surgery, is that it could die, so, i was, and still am
worried about that too. Oh well, if ya have any questions, please ask!!!!
